Time for a dip? Scuba diving in North Devon

Time for a dip? Scuba diving in North Devon

Published on 1st June 2017 by Eliot Wren On Local Area

Scuba diving in Ilfracombe is a sport enjoyed by many enthusiasts thanks to the beautiful waters and marine wildlife that we are able to enjoy right on our doorstep.  Whether you’re a seasoned diver or wanting to learn to dive in Ilfracombe, people of all levels of abilities are given a warm welcome here.

Lundy Island – a scuba diving gem

Boats regularly set off to enjoy local Lundy Island, which has been a dedicated marine nature reserve for over 30 years – no wonder it’s so popular with local divers!  There are more than 40 dive sites surrounding the island with a mixture of reefs, wrecks and drop offs, not to mention the diverse and beautiful sea life.

Whilst in Ilfracombe this is one place that comes highly recommended to explore.

Scuba diving clubs in Ilfracombe

Our local Ilfracombe and North Devon Sub Aqua Club is a friendly club that welcomes visitors to the area to join in their dives.  With a wealth of knowledge on diving in the local area, they are sure to become a key contact for you when visiting us to scuba dive.

Their dives have included a range of wreck, reef, drift and pinnacle dives around sites such as Coombe Martin Bay Reef and The George Lamb – both a short boat ride from Ilfracombe harbour.

Find out more on their website Diving in North Devon.
